FALLING LIGHT

from $1,500.00

This April, my friend Chantal and I traveled to South Africa to volunteer for 10 days with wildlife. We fed and cared for about 100 animals every day, with a particular focus on cheetahs. These incredible cats are both sensitive and intelligent. After spending 10 days with them, they rewarded us with the opportunity to take some unforgettable photos as souvenirs.

We had a particularly close connection with Velvet, an older female cheetah who was rescued from a bad breeding facility. She arrived in poor condition, suffering from ringworm and a broken tail. Velvet was initially placed into a rewilding program but showed no desire to be released. During the soft release process, she was determined to stay close to humans and chose to return to us. Her gentle personality and love for people made her unsuitable for release.

This photograph was taken on the very last day of our trip, during sunrise, when everything fell into place, allowing us to capture a truly magical moment.

10% of the proceeds from this series go toward supporting a cheetah rehabilitation center in Africa.
